Choosing your hardwood floor

Benefits of hardwood flooring

Tips on How to Choose a Hardwood Floor(click here)

Choosing a hardwood floor for your new home or your renovation is an important decision and a serious commitment - one that you may live with for a long time to come! Hardwood flooring has many benefits over other types of flooring. Not only will it add an elegance that will give you a lifetime of pleasure, but will instantly increase the value of your home.

There are so many different types of timber floors that choosing can be quite daunting. Pick a timber that you like and can afford. Generally, bigger trees produce darker colours and soft timber is less resistant than hard timber. It's probably easier to select by colour first and then look at suitability.

The grade of timber you choose, can have as dramatic an effect as your colour selection, from sleek and classic, to old world charm full of character. To begin with, have a look at our timber colour and ratings chart, and our grading descriptions.

If you're still unsure, you can see finished samples at our warehouse and display rooms in Sydney, or have real flooring samples sent to you. Our sales staff are, of course, more than willing to help you with any advice you may require.

Keep in mind that timber is a natural product and that no two trees are the same. As a result, there will always be variances in colour and grain structure. Make sure you order enough at the start for your requirements to ensure that the batches of timber are consistent.
